Food plays an integral role and is at the core of what Fiordland Charters offer. Daily adventures play out based on what your chef needs for the table, and you are in charge of the gathering. Kaimoana is abundant with a range of species on offer, Crayfish, Bluecod, Tarakihi, Hapuka, Butterfish, Moki, Mussels, Cockles and Pipi to name just a few. Sustainably caught and gathered by you, food miles become mere meters and ocean to table dining can happen in a matter of minutes.
We practice Fish for a Feed which means we keep just enough for table and return the rest for another day. We love to share our vision for utilising as much of the fish as possible, and generously share tips and tricks to extend your catch across a variety of meals.
If seafood is not your thing, you will not go hungry. Where possible we source our fruit, veges, meat and stores locally, focusing on generous fresh meals served with a side of Southern hospitality.

It is rare to find a place where time stands still, a big part of what makes Fiordland special is its isolation, no roads or mobile phones mean you can truly connect with friends, family and nature without distraction. Endless changing landscapes present themselves as we move around the Fiords with native flora and fauna are on show around every corner. As well as natural beauty this area is rich in European and Maori history. Learn about early interactions between Captain James Cook and the takata whenua of Tamatea/Dusky sound in 1773 or delve into the groundbreaking conservation work undertaken here to establish some of the first predator free islands in the world.

The Tamatea/Dusky Archipelago is a sheltered haven tucked away from the wild Fiordland coastline. Made up of Te Puaitaha/Breaksea Sound, Acheron Passage, Wet Jacket Arm and Tamatea/Dusky itself, there are over 700 Islands to explore. Our vessel MV Pembroke has been sailing through these waters for over 20 years and is perfectly equipped to help you enjoy this unique playground.
